Children Invited to Create Logo for Dulles Day Family Festival’s “Kids Bus Pull”

Have you ever played a game of tug-of-war with a group of friends? Now imagine what that game would look like if you were playing tug-of-war at Dulles Airport…and your opponent was a big yellow school bus! The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and Special Olympics Virginia are sponsoring a logo design contest for this year’s Kids Bus Pull, part of the 16th Annual Dulles Day Family Festival and Plane Pull Saturday, Sept. 6, at Washington Dulles International Airport.
 Children are invited to submit original logo designs for the Kids Bus Pull—a kid-sized version of our famous Plane Pull event—where teams of children pull a school bus to raise money for Special Olympics Virginia. The winning logo design will be featured on posters and T-shirts given to all Kids Bus Pull participants. The artwork of the semi-finalists will be displayed at Dulles Airport this summer.
Contest rules are simple: Just draw and color your idea of what the Kids Bus Pull looks like on a piece of white, 8 ½ x 11 paper. You can use bright markers, colored pencils or crayons, but no embellishments like glitter, buttons or paint. Write your name, age, parent’s name and phone number on the back. Put your entry in a large envelope (please don’t fold it) and mail to:

That's right - you and your friends
can actually play tug-of war with a school bus! Teams (friends, family, classmates, club members, sports teams) will compete to see who can pull a full size school bus the fastest. Winners in each of three age categories receive prizes, and everyone that participates gets a Bus Pull t-shirt.
